About

In the Corners of the Cities is a collection of pieces from eight students from Macalester College and Hamline University. Our goal is to contribute to the literary legacy of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, following in the footsteps of writers like James Wright and Louise Erdrich.

A project of Prof. Ben Voigt’s Literary City class, this anthology features a wide range of genres and explores themes of connection, change, love and sadness. From the Mall of America to Shadow Falls, George Floyd Square to the Aster Cafe, our writing took us to corners of the Twin Cities that were both well-known and brand new to us, to places we never expected to go.
